Job Temporary Maths GCSE & Functional Skills Lecturer, Sandtoft

Starrycare is seeking a caring and motivated Additional Learning Support Worker to provide personalised support to learners with additional needs, helping them achieve their educational goals and succeed in their programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional learning needs.
  

• Assist students with understanding tasks, developing study skills, and meeting learning objectives.
  

• Support classroom activities under the direction of the lecturer or learning support lead.
  

• Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours among students.
  

• Help implement individual learning plans (ILPs), support strategies, and reasonable adjustments.
  

• Record and report learner progress, concerns, or support needs accurately.
  

• Assist learners with mobility, communication, or personal care needs (where applicable).
  

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals.
  

• Participate in staff training, safeguarding responsibilities, and development activities.
  

• Carry out any additional duties required to support the department and learners.
  

Requirements

Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, SEN Support, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience.

Experience supporting learners with additional needs (e.g., SEND, learning difficulties, disabilities, mental health needs).

Good communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow guidance from teachers and work effectively as part of a team.

Understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and learner-centred support.

Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
